Many do not shake hands to avoid physical contact but are replaced by other means such as "fist bump", elbow fighting and so on.  Avoid this practice.

 MOH recommends safer practices by placing the right hand on the left chest and bowing slightly as a sign of respect.

 Comply with set SOPs.  Practice 3W (Wash, Wear, Warn).
 - Wash hands often
 - wear a face mask
 - warnings (cough & sneezing ethics, cleaning activities, get treatment if symptoms and avoid contact / shaking hands).

KKM menyarankan amalan yang lebih selamat iaitu dengan meletakkan tangan kanan di dada kiri dan tunduk sedikit sebagai tanda hormat. 

Patuhi SOP yang ditetapkan. Amalkan 3W (Wash, Wear, Warn).
- kerap membasuh tangan
- pakai pelitup muka
- peringatan (etika batuk & bersin, aktiviti pembersihan, dapatkan rawatan sekirannya bergejala dan elak bersentuhan/bersalaman).
